The quilt is machine pieced and hand quilted. Each solid block is paired with a print block. Prints were a wide range of shirt plaids all the way to a kitchen ware print. POPPY QUILT

POPPY QUILT  66" X 80"  block size 121/2 X 121/2  circa 1930's to 40's (very pretty)

Poppie's were hand appliqued with a black, blanket stitch. Heavy batting migrated in places which is due to the primitive cotton wadding used. Nile green cotton fabric used for the sashing. Found in an antique store in north GA ,USA. Priced at $155.00

BASKET QUILT

BUBBLE GUM PINK BASKET QUILT  591/2" X 73" CIRCA 1930"S

Very pretty pink and print basket quilt. It is hand pieced & hand quilted with simple straight lines. The colors are excellent with almost no fading. One fabric in a single block shows a little wear possibly due to the dye in the fabric. Overall a lovely, hand made quilt. $175.00

TRIP AROUND THE WORLD QULT (TOP ONLY) 871/2 X 90

This is a top only of the BOSTON COMMONS. It measures 871/2" X 90". According to the size there are about 1690  11/2" squares in the quilt. The colors are wonderful and color placement is excellent. It is machine pieced.  circa around 1940.  NFS

FEED SACK QUILT

FEED SACK QUILT 64" X 74"

This is my favorite antique quilt. It is made from large sack pieces with no paticular pattern. Typical of a necessity quilt. The batting is a heavy type cotton which indicates a southern quilt. The qulting is a beautiful baptist fan pattern. (currently just for show, NFS)
